Chapter-14 God choose us even before the world came into existence

He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before him in love. He destined us for adoption as his children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace that he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. - Ephesians 1: 4 – 6

God raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. - Ephesians 2:6

Attaching our difficulties and sorrows of this world, with the passion of Christ on the Cross, let us participate in the passion. Participating in the Passion let us participate in the resurrection of Jesus the Lord. And thus, live in heaven eternally amidst the saints in companionship!

Christ is the surpassing value - all things of this world are rubbish

More than that, I regard everything as loss because of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and regard them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ. - Philippians 3: 8

Heavenly life is the prize

Straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Jesus Christ. - Philippians 3:14

Our citizenship is in heaven; (Heaven is our permanent dwelling place). - Philippians 3: 20

For many live as enemies of the cross of Christ; I have often told you of them, and now I tell you even with tears. Their end is destruction; their god is the belly; and their glory is in their shame; their minds are set on earthly things; But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savour, the Lord Jesus Christ. - Philippians 3:18 – 20

Take hold of the eternal life, to which you were called

The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and in their eagerness to be rich some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pains. But as for you, man of God, shun all this; pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life, to which you were called and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. -1 Timothy 6:10-12

Indeed, the word of God is living

Indeed, the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow; it is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12

Lord, the Son of God chastises us his children

You have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as children- “My child, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, or lose heart when you are punished by him; for the Lord disciplines those whom he loves, and chastises every child whom he accepts.” Endure trails for the sake of discipline. God is treating you as children; for what child is there whom a parent does not discipline? - Hebrews 12: 5-7

The Lord disciplines us for our good

If you do not have that discipline in which all children share, then you are illegitimate and not his children. Moreover, we had human parents to discipline us, and we respected them. Should we not be even more willing to be subject to the Father of spirits and live? For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share his holiness. - Hebrews 12: 8-10

The Lord is my helper

Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; for he said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?” - Hebrews 13: 5-6

The sacrifices that are pleasing to God

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. - Hebrews 13:16

God will give us wisdom

If any one of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you. But ask in faith, never doubting.

Warning to rich oppressors

Come now, you rich people, weep and wail for your miseries that are coming to you. Your riches have rotted, and your clothes are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have rusted, and their rust will be evidence against you, and it will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure for the last days. - James 5:1-3

Faith without works

For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead. - James 2:26

Those who humble themselves will be exalted

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. You do not even know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Any one, then, who knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, commits sin. - James 4:10,14,17

Through the chimney the smoke is let out and it disappears in no time. So also we live in this world for some time and disappear.
