God the heavenly Father, sent his only Son Jesus the Lord into this world in order to take us to heaven. By our faith we inherit our life in heaven. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. In him was life, and the life was the light of all people. To all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God, who were born, not of blood or of the will of the flesh or of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and lived among us. - John 1:1-4,2 -14

Jesus calls God, our Father and our God

Jesus said to them: I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God. - John 20:17

God lives in our souls as our Father; we are holy people born of God. Those who are born of God will not commit sin; rather they will live as saints.

Eternal life which is life in heaven

Jesus the Lord God says, rejoice that your names are written in heaven. - Luke 10:20

Jesus said to her: I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live; and every one lives and believes in me will never die. - John 11:25-26

Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the bread (the Eucharist) of life. - John 6:47- 48

Jesus the Lord prays thus to God the Almighty Father:

You have given him (Jesus) authority over all people, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. - John 17: 2 - 3

The works of God

The Jews asked Jesus, what must we do to perform the works of God? Jesus answered them, this is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent. - John 6:28 - 29

Eternal life because of Faith

This is indeed the will of my Father, that all who see the Son and believe in him may have eternal life; and I will raise them up on the last day. - John 6:40

Abraham lived many years ago

The great patriarch Abraham lived many years ago but Jesus the Lord God lived already before Abraham. The Jews said to Jesus, you are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham? Jesus said to them, very truly, I tell you, beforeAbraham was, I am. - John 8:57-58

The life giving word

Very truly, I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and does not come under judgement, but has passed from death to life. - John 5:24

Simon Peter (the first Pope) answered him, Lord to whom can we go? You have the words of eternal life. - John 6:68

Treasures in heaven

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and the rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth or rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. You cannot serve God and wealth. - Mathew 6: 19-21,24

The children of Jesus will attain the eternal life

My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. What my Father has given me is greater than all else, and no one can snatch it out of the Father's hand. The Father and I are one. - John 10: 27 - 30

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but must endure God's wrath.” - John 3:36

Jesus the Lord told the criminal, who was a good thief: “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” - Luke 23:43

Loving is the only way to find life

A lawyer stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher”, he said, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “what is written in the law? What do you read there?” He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” And he said to him, “You have given the right answer; do this, and you will live.” - Luke 10:25-37; Matthew 22:34-40; Mark 12:28-34

Further Jesus the Lord points out the help done by the good Samaritan. Jesus teaches us that if we have to go to heaven, we should help others; we should live for others particularly those who suffer.

The love of God and the love of neighbor

We love because God first loved us. Those who say, “I love God” and hate their brothers and sisters, are liars; for those who do not love brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen. The commandment we have from him is this : those who love God must love their brothers and sisters also. - 1 John 4:19 - 21

They asked the Lord Jesus, “What must we do to inherit the eternal life? You should love God and love our neighbors. If love is fertile in our life then we will inherit heaven. Loving God is to accept Jesus as our Redeemer, and living according to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We have to live according to the word of the Lord and be a model of our redeemed life. Let us also united and become one among the many saints. The love of the neighbor is that we love others as we love ourselves. We have to do good to others in love. We should not do any evil; We have to forgive those who sin against us. When we forgive the sins of others, God will forgive our sins. We have to do good to those who do evil against us. We have to pray to the Lord for others. We have to proclaim the Good News to all. We have to help the needy poor and the suffering. These will be great deeds acceptable to God. When we help others, the Lord gives us the eternal life as an incomparable reward. The love of God and the love of the neighbor are the very basic foundation.

I am the way, and the truth and the life

God the Lord says: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am there you may be also. And you know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. - John 14:1- 6

God the Father is in heaven; Jesus the Lord is the way to heaven.
